Paid Media Specialist

Brainlabs is fine, but job security is shaky
Pros: You get to work on a ton of diverse client accounts. It's a great place to learn quickly, especially for new Paid Media roles. The hybrid work model is pretty flexible.
Cons: Job security is definitely my biggest concern here. Client churn is a constant worry, and it directly impacts teams. It's tough seeing colleagues affected by account losses, making you question your own stability.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving client retention to create more stable teams. Better communication about job security and future plans would go a long way in calming employee anxieties, especially for the New York City office.

Okay Pay, Benefits Could Be Better
Pros: The base salary for a Digital Marketing Specialist here is pretty decent for a mid-sized agency in New York City. They also cover most of our health insurance premiums, which is a solid plus.
Cons: Annual raises aren't great; they barely keep up with inflation. Don't expect huge bonuses for hitting your PPC targets either, it's usually just a small percentage.
Advice to Management: Review the compensation structure, especially annual raises and bonus payouts for client-facing roles. Better incentives would really boost morale.

Growth is Okay, But You Manage It
Pros: You get to learn a lot here, especially if you're new to the digital marketing agency world. As a PPC Specialist, I definitely picked up many new skills across different client accounts. They do offer some internal training workshops, which is decent.
Cons: Career growth isn't super structured. It's often up to you to push for promotions or new responsibilities. Upward mobility can feel slow, especially in the New York City office, as there aren't always clear paths for advancement beyond senior roles.
Advice to Management: Create more defined career paths and provide clearer guidance for promotions. Invest more in leadership training for managers so they can better support their teams' development.

Good learning, but career path can be fuzzy
Pros: As an Account Manager, I've gotten solid experience across various clients, learning a lot about paid media strategies. Being in the New York City office means you work with some cool brands, which is great for skill development in digital marketing.
Cons: Career progression isn't always transparent here, especially for junior to mid-level roles. There aren't many structured mentorship programs, so you have to really advocate for yourself to move up. Sometimes, it feels like promotions take too long.
Advice to Management: Set up clearer, more formalized career paths for all team members, especially in client-facing roles. Provide more consistent feedback and development opportunities to help people grow faster.

Okay growth if you push for it
Pros: I've learned a ton about advanced PPC campaigns and different ad platforms. If you're proactive, there's always a chance to work on bigger or more complex client accounts, which is great for digital marketing skills. It's solid experience for a Senior Media Buyer.
Cons: The career progression isn't super clear. You really have to advocate for yourself and show consistent results to move up. Formal training or mentorship for leadership roles feels pretty limited, especially within the New York City office. Sometimes it feels like you're stuck.
Advice to Management: Brainlabs should implement clearer career paths and offer more structured mentorship programs for employees looking to advance. Don't make people guess how to get to the next level.

Hybrid Model Works, But Needs More Flexibility
Pros: I really liked the hybrid work setup for my client campaigns. It's great to have those WFH days to focus. As a Digital Marketing Specialist, I could manage projects well from home when needed.
Cons: Sometimes the hybrid model felt too rigid with specific office days. I wish there was more choice for digital marketing roles to pick in-office days based on actual team needs. It's tough when you're remote from afar and still have set 'in-office' expectations.
Advice to Management: Consider making the hybrid model more truly flexible, especially for those in digital marketing roles who don't always need to be in the physical office. Trust your teams more with their schedules.

Work-life balance can be tough for agency roles
Pros: The team in the London office is really supportive, which helps when things get busy. I do appreciate the hybrid model, it gives some flexibility for WFH a few days a week, which is a definite plus.
Cons: Honestly, the work-life balance here isn't great for digital marketing agency roles. As a Senior PPC Specialist, managing multiple demanding paid media campaigns often means working late. It's tough to really switch off.
Advice to Management: Try to manage client expectations better regarding timelines and deliverables. Consider staffing up to reduce the workload burden on individual Senior PPC Specialists. This would really help improve work-life balance across the board.
