Pros: I do like the actual engineering projects. You get to work on some really advanced industrial machinery. The team in the Newport News office is pretty solid, and we collaborate well. There's some decent job security too, which is a plus.
Cons: Work flexibility is a real struggle here. There's almost no remote work option for Project Engineer roles, even for tasks that don't need a physical presence. It feels like a very old-school, onsite culture. Getting any kind of schedule adjustment is tough, which impacts work-life balance a lot.
Advice to Management: Management needs to seriously reconsider their stance on work flexibility and remote options. Modernizing these policies would boost morale and attract more talent, especially for engineering roles that can do some work from home.
