Pros: You get solid job security here, which is great for a large corporate employer in the heavy machinery industry. The pay is pretty decent, and my engineering team was always supportive.
Cons: Work flexibility is a big problem. As a Project Engineer, remote work really isn't an option; you're pretty much always onsite. It makes work-life balance tough when you're expected to be in the office daily and sometimes work long hours.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing more modern work flexibility options, even for onsite roles. It would really help with employee morale and retention, especially for younger talent in the manufacturing sector.

Pros: I do like the actual engineering projects. You get to work on some really advanced industrial machinery. The team in the Newport News office is pretty solid, and we collaborate well. There's some decent job security too, which is a plus.
