Decent flexibility for an HR role
Pros: I appreciate the optional hybrid work model here. As an HR Generalist, it's nice to have two WFH days a week. It really helps with my commute to the Austin, TX office and managing personal errands.
Cons: The core hours are pretty strict, so true work flexibility isn't always there. If you need to come in late or leave early, it's often a bit of a headache. This can be tough on overall work-life balance for those needing more agility.
Advice to Management: Consider relaxing the strict core hours a bit more. Empower managers to offer more flexible schedules, especially for roles like HR Generalist where tasks can often be done remotely without impacting operational efficiency. More autonomy would really boost morale across the mid-sized company.

Decent pay, but benefits could be better
Pros: The base salary for an HR Generalist was competitive, especially for the Austin, TX office. I felt like the pay was a solid reason to stay. They did offer a decent 401k match after a year.
Cons: The health insurance premiums were pretty high, which really cut into the take-home pay. It didn't feel like the benefits package really matched the compensation. Dental and vision options weren't great either.
Advice to Management: Look into improving the employee benefits, especially the health insurance costs. It would make a big difference for retention and overall employee satisfaction.

Pay is okay, benefits could be better
Pros: I got a pretty decent base salary for my Recruiting Coordinator role, especially compared to some smaller recruiting firms. The 401k match was solid, which is always good. Plus, working from the Austin, TX office in a hybrid model was nice.
Cons: The health benefits weren't great, pretty high deductibles. There's not much room for salary negotiation either, which felt a bit rigid. For a growing HR industry company, I think they could step up the overall compensation package.
Advice to Management: Look into improving the health insurance plans and be more open to salary negotiations. It'll help attract and retain top talent for our HR industry roles.
