Decent Flexibility, But It Varies By Role
Pros: I appreciate the hybrid work model; I can WFH a couple of days a week as a Sales Engineer. It's good for avoiding the London commute and managing personal stuff.
Cons: True remote options aren't really a thing for most of us, even in cybersecurity distribution. Getting extra flexibility or different hours can be tough, especially if your manager isn't keen.
Advice to Management: Standardize remote and hybrid work policies across all teams and locations. It would really help with morale.

Decent Hybrid Work, But Room for More Freedom
Pros: They do offer hybrid work, which is a plus. I get a couple of remote days a week as an Account Manager. It's helpful for balancing personal stuff, and the London office is pretty good when you're in for team collaboration on IT solutions.
Cons: The 'required' office days can feel a bit rigid. I wish there was more flexibility with the WFH policy, as sometimes you just need to focus at home. For sales roles in cybersecurity distribution, being tied to specific office days isn't always ideal when you're on calls all day.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more remote days or making the office days more flexible based on team needs, especially for roles that are largely independent.

Job Security is Solid Here, but Growth is Slow
Pros: For a Sales Engineer in cybersecurity distribution, the job security feels pretty solid. It's a stable corporate environment. They don't have massive layoffs, especially in the London office, which is a big plus during uncertain times.
Cons: Career growth can feel slow. There aren't always clear paths for advancement for technical roles. Pay isn't top-tier compared to working directly for a big vendor, which can be tough.
Advice to Management: Focus on developing clearer career paths and offer more competitive compensation for long-term employees, especially for experienced technical talent. It'll help with retention.

Pay is decent, but benefits could improve
Pros: The base salary as a Sales Engineer isn't bad for the cybersecurity VAD industry. Commissions can add a decent chunk if you hit your targets. They offer standard health insurance, which is fine, but nothing to write home about.
Cons: The benefit package itself isn't super competitive, especially compared to larger tech companies. I felt underpaid compared to other Sales Engineer roles in Dallas, TX. There isn't much room for significant pay increases unless you move into a management role, and equity options are non-existent.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the total compensation package for technical roles like Sales Engineers. Competing for top talent in cybersecurity means better benefits and a clear path for salary growth.

Decent Job Security, Typical Corporate Environment
Pros: Job security here is pretty solid. As a global distributor of network security solutions, the company feels stable and less prone to big layoffs. They've got a huge client base, so for cybersecurity professionals, it's generally a safe bet.
Cons: While job security is good, growth opportunities can feel a bit slow sometimes. There's not always clear paths for career progression beyond your current role, especially in the London office. It's a large corporate environment, so things move slower.
Advice to Management: Try to create more transparent career progression paths. It would help retain talent in key roles like Security Solutions Engineer.

Hybrid model is decent, but can vary
Pros: I appreciate the option to work from home a couple of days a week, which is a solid perk for many tech sales roles. It helps manage the commute for those of us in the cybersecurity distribution space. There's some trust in getting your work done remotely.
Cons: It's tough when 'hybrid' still means frequent calls to be in the London office for impromptu meetings, especially for a Sales Engineer. This isn't always clear and can disrupt plans. Sometimes you feel pressured to be onsite even on WFH days.
Advice to Management: Clarify the hybrid policy more consistently, especially for Sales Engineer roles. Make sure WFH days are respected and not constantly interrupted with mandatory onsite requests.

Decent Benefits, Base Pay Could Be Better
Pros: I liked the overall benefits package. The health insurance and pension contributions were pretty good for a company in cybersecurity distribution. Plus, there's a good hybrid work model, which helps with flexibility.
Cons: The base pay for an Account Manager role isn't super competitive, especially in a city like London. Commission structure felt a bit opaque sometimes, making it tough to really understand the total compensation picture. I think they could do more for salary reviews.
Advice to Management: Review the base salaries for key roles, especially in competitive markets like London. Make the commission and bonus structures clearer for sales teams.

Solid Job Security, Slower Career Path
Pros: You don't really worry about getting cut here; job security is pretty good. As a Sales Engineer in cybersecurity distribution, it's a stable role in a big corporate environment. The benefits package is actually quite decent too.
Cons: Career growth isn't super quick, which can be tough. It feels like you wait a long time for promotions or new opportunities. Also, the hybrid work model isn't as flexible as advertised sometimes.
Advice to Management: Work on clearer career progression paths for your technical staff. It's hard to stay motivated when growth feels stagnant.

Culture is fine, but it's a sales-driven place
Pros: The team dynamic in the London office is pretty solid; you'll find a good crew of colleagues. There's usually a supportive vibe, which helps when you're working in cybersecurity distribution and need to lean on others.
Cons: It's a very sales-focused corporate environment, so the company culture can feel quite intense, especially for Sales Engineer roles. Sometimes it feels like all that matters are the numbers, which can create a lot of pressure.
Advice to Management: Try to balance sales pressure with employee well-being more. Foster a stronger sense of community beyond just hitting targets for everyone.

Decent Culture in Cybersecurity Distribution, But It Varies
Pros: Working as a Sales Account Manager in the London office, I've found the immediate team culture pretty solid. People are genuinely supportive, especially navigating the complex world of cybersecurity distribution. It's a good place for learning the VAD business if you're new.
Cons: The broader company culture can feel a bit fragmented sometimes. There's a disconnect between global goals and what happens locally in the UK. It makes career growth tough if you're looking beyond your direct team.
Advice to Management: Focus on uniting the global teams more. Better transparency and communication from leadership would definitely improve things, especially for account management roles looking to grow within the company.
