Okay flexibility, but room to grow for PMs
Pros: I've been able to swing a decent hybrid work schedule here at TP Corp, which is good for personal appointments. For Project Manager roles in our Dallas, TX office, the option to work from home a couple days a week is a solid perk. It helps a lot with my commute.
Cons: However, it's not truly flexible; we still have pretty fixed core hours. Management isn't keen on expanding remote options, even though many corporate roles could handle it. There's pressure to be in the office more than strictly necessary.
Advice to Management: Trust employees more with true work-from-home options for corporate roles. The fixed core hours limit real flexibility and can make it tough to schedule things.

Hybrid flexibility is decent, not groundbreaking
Pros: For a big tech company, the hybrid model actually works pretty well. We get 2-3 days remote work per week, which is good for avoiding the Seattle traffic. There's some flexibility to shift hours a bit if you need to, which helps.
Cons: It's not truly flexible if you're looking for full remote work; the company has a firm onsite policy for engineering roles. Sometimes, specific team meetings require everyone in the Seattle office, limiting personal scheduling for Software Engineers.
Advice to Management: Consider allowing more flexibility for engineering roles, especially for experienced Software Engineers who consistently demonstrate productivity remotely. It would help with retention.

Okay flexibility, depends on your team here
Pros: I really liked the hybrid model. As a Software Engineer, I got to work from home a couple of days a week, which was great for my schedule. The Austin, TX office is good for collaboration when you are in.
Cons: It's not truly flexible across the board though. Some managers in this big tech company are strict about WFH days, even if your tasks don't require you to be onsite. There's an expectation to be in more often than advertised.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid and WFH policies across all engineering teams. It shouldn't be so dependent on individual manager preferences.

Decent Flexibility in Tech, But Has Limits
Pros: The hybrid model is pretty solid if your manager is cool. I got to work from home a couple of days a week, which was a big plus for my commute in Austin, TX traffic. For Software Engineer roles, this kind of work arrangement is expected, and TP delivers most of the time.
Cons: Sometimes, the "flexible" policy felt a bit inconsistent across different teams. You're still expected to be in the office a fair bit, so it's not truly remote. Project deadlines often meant working longer hours, even on WFH days, which kinda cancels out the flexibility.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the hybrid model across all teams. It'd really help with consistency and perception of work-life balance for all employees in the tech industry.

Hybrid Work is Okay for Austin Project Managers
Pros: The hybrid work policy is a big plus for Project Manager roles here. We can work remotely a couple of days a week, which really helps with personal appointments. The Austin, TX office is good for collaboration when we do go in.
Cons: Full remote work isn't an option for most, which can be tough sometimes. There's not much flexibility for adjusting core hours, even within the hybrid model. Sometimes it feels like WFH days are just 'extra' work days.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more flexible core hours or increasing remote days for certain Project Manager roles. It would really help with work-life balance.
