Pay's fine for remote IT consulting, benefits meh.
Pros: The base pay for an Associate Consultant in the IT consulting industry is decent, especially for entry-level roles. They do offer some basic health benefits, and getting paid bi-weekly is consistent. You're set up pretty well for remote work from day one.
Cons: Annual raises are usually pretty small, sometimes not even keeping up with inflation. The bonus structure isn't very clear, and often feels like an afterthought. I've seen better 401k matching at other companies, so that's a bit of a letdown.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into making the compensation package more competitive, especially with annual raises and the 401k match. Transparency around bonus criteria would also help employee morale.

Pay is decent, but don't expect big tech salaries
Pros: The health benefits are pretty solid, which is a big plus. As a Software Engineer working remote, it's nice to have stable health coverage without crazy premiums. The WFH setup definitely saves on commuting too.
Cons: Base salary for technical roles in IT consulting isn't as competitive as I'd hoped. You won't see big tech numbers here. The annual raises are also pretty small, so don't count on huge bumps.
Advice to Management: You should really look into increasing base salaries, especially for experienced technical roles. It's tough to retain top talent when other companies offer significantly more for similar software development work.

Remote Work Flexibility Is Pretty Solid Here
Pros: The remote work policy for software development roles is a big plus. I could really manage my own schedule, which is key for a good work-life balance. It's great to avoid the daily commute.
Cons: Sometimes client demands meant late nights, impacting that flexibility. As a remote Software Engineer, it felt harder to connect with teams sometimes, which can be tough for career growth.
Advice to Management: Keep supporting remote work arrangements, but also find better ways to foster team connection for remote employees. Maybe more virtual team-building or dedicated mentorship.
