Stable Field Work, Slow Career Path
It's a big, stable company in the elevator industry. The day-to-day as a Field Service Technician is predictable, but I've found that moving up the ladder is pretty hard.
The pay is pretty solid, especially for skilled trades in the elevator industry. You get decent benefits and job security is good since it's an essential service. As a Field Service Technician, the work is steady.
Career growth here is definitely a challenge. It's tough to move up from a Field Service Technician role unless someone retires or leaves. There aren't many clear paths for advancement, even with years of preventative maintenance experience. The big corporate structure makes internal transfers feel really slow.
Invest more in developing clearer career paths for field service employees. It would really help with retention if people could see a future beyond their current role.
