Pros: We have a pretty solid hybrid model here, which is nice. As a Software Engineer, I get 2-3 WFH days a week. It really helps avoid the San Francisco commute sometimes, and that's a plus in the tech industry.
Cons: The work flexibility is there, but it's not always easy for engineering roles to fully utilize it. Sometimes you're still expected in the San Francisco office on WFH days for 'critical' meetings. It feels like managers don't always trust the remote setup.
Advice to Management: Trust your teams more with the hybrid model. Not every meeting needs to be in person, especially for software development. Support for truly remote work or consistent hybrid policies would improve employee morale.

Pros: I've had some decent stretches here as a Software Engineer, especially with the hybrid model. You can often manage your 40-hour weeks if you're good at setting boundaries. It's a solid place in the tech industry generally, even in the San Francisco office.
Cons: There are definitely times with tight deadlines or on-call rotations that totally mess up your personal time. Sometimes managers don't push back enough on unrealistic product timelines. It's hard to maintain consistent work-life balance for tech roles.
Advice to Management: Please give teams more realistic project timelines and better support for on-call rotations. It would really help with employee burnout.

Pros: The health benefits package is solid here, that's a definite plus. Dental and vision coverage are pretty good for the tech industry. You're set on that front.
Cons: Base salary for a Junior Software Engineer isn't competitive, especially in the Austin, TX office. Raises feel minimal year-over-year. You'll find better compensation at other big tech companies.
Advice to Management: Seriously review the salary bands for entry-level tech roles. It's getting tough to attract top talent when compensation isn't competitive.
