Solid Place for Stability, But Watch Out
Pros: As a Software Engineer in the test and measurement industry, I've found job security here is pretty decent. They're a big tech company with a long history, which makes you feel secure. The company isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Cons: Sometimes projects get shifted or cancelled suddenly without much warning, which can be unsettling. For certain roles, especially in the Santa Rosa, CA office, career growth can feel a bit stagnant, making you question long-term prospects.
Advice to Management: Give teams clearer roadmaps for projects. Focus on better internal mobility programs, especially for experienced engineers who want to grow within the company.

Pretty solid job security for engineers
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the job security at this big tech company is definitely a strong point. Keysight has a really diverse product portfolio in test and measurement, so we're not tied to just one market. You feel pretty safe here, even with economic shifts.
Cons: Things can feel a bit slow-paced sometimes, which isn't great for career growth if you're ambitious. There are re-orgs occasionally, which can shake things up even if roles usually get re-assigned. The corporate environment can feel a bit rigid.
Advice to Management: Focus more on clear growth paths for Software Engineer roles. Speed up decision-making a bit to keep up with industry changes.

Pay and Benefits are Decent, Could Be Better
Pros: Health insurance plans are solid. I've had good coverage for my family. The 401k match is generous for a big tech company. There's decent PTO for a Software Engineer. The hybrid work setup is a big plus for flexibility.
Cons: Base salaries for junior roles feel a bit low. Don't expect huge annual raises here. Bonuses aren't as strong as I'd hoped. It's tough to increase total comp in the test and measurement industry.
Advice to Management: Keysight management should review market rates for engineering compensation. Raising base salaries and improving bonus structures would help attract and retain talent in the test and measurement industry.
