Okay Culture for a Big Tech Company
Pros: The teams are generally supportive, and I really enjoyed working with my direct colleagues in the flash memory division. For a big tech company like Sandisk, they offer pretty solid benefits and the Milpitas, CA office is nice.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit slow-paced and resistant to new ideas sometimes. As a firmware engineer, it felt like innovation was often bogged down by corporate bureaucracy. Don't expect startup energy here.
Advice to Management: Try to foster a more dynamic environment and encourage risk-taking, especially in product development. Listen more to the ground-level engineers; they have great insights.

Culture is decent, but very corporate
Pros: For a Software Engineer, the projects around flash memory and data storage are genuinely interesting. You're working with very smart people. The pay and benefits are also pretty good, as you'd expect from a large corporate employer.
Cons: The company culture itself can feel quite bureaucratic and slow to adapt. It's tough to get new ideas through sometimes. There's less of a dynamic vibe here, especially compared to smaller startups in the semiconductor industry.
Advice to Management: Management should try to streamline decision-making processes to encourage more agility and innovation. Fostering a more open, less hierarchical environment would also help.

Culture is okay, but it's a big company
Pros: The team here for Senior Software Engineer roles is generally supportive. People are helpful when you need it. There's a lot of knowledge in the Milpitas office, and it feels like a big tech company.
Cons: Company culture can feel a bit fragmented sometimes. It's hard to feel connected across different departments. The hybrid work model also feels inconsistent.
Advice to Management: Try to foster more cross-team collaboration. Clearer communication on company-wide changes would help. Make the hybrid work policy more consistent for employees.
