Hybrid Model Works, But Could Be Better
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the hybrid model at Apple's Cupertino office is okay. You get some flexibility with your WFH days, which is a big plus for personal errands. The technology provided for remote work is solid.
Cons: True work flexibility for engineering roles is still pretty limited. They really push for 3 days a week onsite, which can be tough. It doesn't always feel like a choice; more like required office time for product development.
Advice to Management: Really listen to teams about what kind of hybrid or remote work actually helps productivity, especially for individual contributors. Don't just set a blanket onsite policy for the big tech company.

Apple's Hybrid Work Model Lacks Flexibility
Pros: The compensation is really solid for big tech, and you get to work on impactful projects in the consumer electronics industry. The benefits package is also pretty decent overall.
Cons: The biggest downside is the strict hybrid model. As a Software Engineer, the requirement to be on the Cupertino campus 3 days a week really limits true work flexibility. It's not great for those seeking a more remote-friendly arrangement.
Advice to Management: Revisit the hybrid work policy. It's hard to attract and retain top talent, especially Software Engineers, when competitors offer more work flexibility and remote options.

Hybrid Model Can Feel Like Constant Onsite
Pros: Working in the Cupertino office has its perks. You get to collaborate easily with teammates, which is good for complex projects in the consumer electronics industry. The facilities are top-notch and some teams offer a slightly more relaxed hybrid model than others.
Cons: For a Software Engineer, true work flexibility is limited. The mandatory 3-day onsite policy feels pretty rigid. It often makes you feel like you're full-time in the office anyway, as remote work options are almost non-existent for most roles.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more true remote or flexible hybrid options. It would really boost morale and allow for a better work-life balance without sacrificing productivity for many technical roles.

Hybrid Model for Software Engineers Is Tough
Pros: The pay and benefits package is super competitive, typical for big tech companies. I've worked on some genuinely innovative consumer electronics products, which is a huge draw. Plus, there's a good sense of company culture among most teams.
Cons: Work flexibility is a real issue here, especially with the strict hybrid work model. As an Engineer, the mandatory 3 days onsite at the Cupertino campus felt like a step backward. It just makes work-life balance unnecessarily tough when a lot of the work could easily be WFH.
Advice to Management: Seriously reconsider the strict hybrid model for technical teams. Giving more trust and flexibility, especially for software engineers who can be productive remotely, would boost morale and retention. It's tough to attract top talent when other big tech companies offer more WFH.
