Pros: The base salary is pretty good for a remote Software Engineer role, especially in the AI voice technology space. They offer unlimited PTO, which is a nice perk if you can actually use it.
Cons: The healthcare benefits aren't amazing, especially for someone remote from California. The 401k match is pretty low too. You're definitely in a startup, so don't expect big tech perks.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the 401k matching program and look into more competitive health insurance plans for employees. Better benefits would really help with retention in this competitive tech landscape.

Pros: It's a pretty good tech startup with solid remote work flexibility. I've found the work-life balance decent for an AI company, usually sticking to 40-hour weeks. The product in the ed-tech industry is genuinely cool and impactful.
Cons: Career growth for a Software Engineer is pretty stagnant. You won't find much of a clear path to promotion here, which can be frustrating for developer roles. Pay and benefits are just okay, not top-tier compared to bigger tech.
Advice to Management: Establish clearer, more transparent career paths for individual contributors, especially within the engineering department. More explicit criteria for promotions would really help boost morale and retention.

Pros: It's cool working on cutting-edge AI voice technology here. I've learned a ton as a Software Engineer, especially with our remote setup. Everyone's super smart and motivated.
Cons: The company culture is really intense sometimes. There's a lot of pressure to hit aggressive deadlines in this tech startup environment. Communication can be a bit scattered across teams, which makes things tougher.
Advice to Management: Leadership needs to work on clearer communication channels and better managing workload expectations. It would help a lot with burnout and improve team morale across the remote workforce.
