Pros: As a Software Engineer in the lighting solutions industry, I've found that the hybrid model at Signify is actually pretty flexible. We get to work from home a couple of days a week, which is nice for balancing personal life. My manager is usually fine if I need to shift hours a bit.
Cons: The downside is it's really team-dependent. Some teams have less flexibility, and you're expected to be onsite more often. Full remote isn't really an option here, even for roles that seem like they could be.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more fully remote options for certain roles. Standardize flexibility policies across all teams.

Pros: I appreciate the hybrid model; it's really helpful. WFH a couple days a week makes a big difference for life in the Piscataway, NJ area. For Software Engineer roles, this work arrangement is pretty solid and aids work-life balance.
Cons: It's not truly remote; you still have to be in the office a few days, which limits some flexibility. Sometimes project deadlines in the smart lighting industry mean less WFH, even with the hybrid setup. The core office hours can be a bit rigid too.
Advice to Management: Give teams more autonomy on WFH days. True work flexibility means trusting employees to get work done, not just setting office attendance quotas. It would really help morale and retain talent in the competitive tech industry.

Pros: You do get a bit of flexibility as a Software Engineer, especially when needing to run errands or adjust your start time. The hybrid model in the Burlington, MA office means you're not always chained to your desk, which is a plus for some.
Cons: However, the official hybrid policy often feels more like mandatory office days than true flexibility. It's hard to get full remote work approval for specific situations. This can make it tough to plan for personal appointments.
Advice to Management: Revisit the hybrid work policy. More trust and actual flexibility for lighting technology teams would boost morale and productivity. Consider allowing more remote options.
