Decent Hybrid Model, But Watch Out for Expectations
Pros: It's nice that they offer a hybrid work model for Software Engineer roles, so I'm not always in the NYC office. You get some leeway to manage your schedule, which is good for personal appointments.
Cons: However, the 'flexibility' often means you're still expected to be online late, especially collaborating across time zones on financial data projects. It can be tough to truly unplug even with the remote option, and sometimes it feels like just showing up isn't enough.
Advice to Management: Really encourage managers to model true work-life balance and respect the hybrid policy. The pressure to always be 'on' counteracts the flexibility you're trying to offer, especially for engineering teams working on critical financial data platforms.

Hybrid's Decent, But Could Be Better for Some
Pros: Having WFH days is a huge plus; it really helps with the commute to the New York City office. The hybrid work model is a decent setup for many in the market intelligence platform space. It's not fully remote, but it's a solid start.
Cons: The work flexibility isn't always consistent. Some teams, like ours in engineering, feel like they have less freedom to adjust their office days. It can be tough when you're expected in for internal meetings that could easily be remote.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid work model more across all engineering teams. Give Software Engineers more autonomy on in-office days when their work is primarily independent. This would help a lot with work-life balance.

Decent Hybrid Flexibility, Team Dependent
Pros: As a Data Analyst, I genuinely appreciated the hybrid work model. It's really helpful to work remote a few days a week, especially when navigating the New York City commute. The flexibility for personal stuff is a big plus in this financial intelligence tech space.
Cons: While there's a stated hybrid policy, actual work flexibility can feel pretty inconsistent across different teams. Some managers in the NYC office are stricter about being onsite, which makes it feel less like a true flexible environment. It's tough when you see others struggling to use their WFH days consistently.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize work flexibility policies across all teams and departments. Make sure all managers are on the same page regarding remote and hybrid work expectations to ensure fairness and prevent inconsistencies.
