The role:
The Communications Officer reports to the Senior Development and Permitting Director and CEO, Philippines and is based in the Manila office. The role is outward facing and supports the San Miguel Bay Offshore Wind Farm Project communications and regional engagement efforts in the Philippines.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Develop, oversee, and implement effective communications and campaigns to promote offshore wind and the San Miguel Bay Offshore Wind Farm Project.
- Lead the digital strategy and channels (videos, social media and website), proactively identify and develop high-quality and engaging content; brief and work with suppliers such as photographers, videographers, and web developers to maintain and update content as required; and ensure content is always current and correct.
- Lead the communications collateral (fact sheets, displays, presentations, social media, newsletters, websites, and advertising), including: ensuring materials are current and engaging; working with suppliers such as designers, editors and internal stakeholders to ensure information is accurate and well-presented.
- Proactively identify and act on local media issues and opportunities, including: build relationships with journalists; prepare media releases and events; media messaging and responding to enquiries.
- Lead corporate and other events with a project presence, including: identifying strategically important events, managing corporate sponsorships and event branding, securing speaking opportunities and preparing speakers/participants.
- Provide advice and support to assist other teams to ensure strong communication and stakeholder outcomes.
- Act as a brand guardian, ensuring that the project’s brand is applied appropriately across all public materials.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders at national, regional and local level including representing the project and its interests in relevant meetings, forums, community, and stakeholder engagement activities and championing a collaborative approach towards offshore wind.
- Management of communications workflow and tasks to ensure timely delivery, allowing for necessary fact checking, reviews and approvals.
Your Experience
- A relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualification in a relevant field such as Journalism, Communications or Marketing.
- Alternatively, experience from similar position in Renewable Energy.
- Relevant professional experience at a similar level is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in major infrastructure project development and delivery (or comparable field) and/or the renewables sector.
- A solid understanding of communications and/or marketing or relevant work experience.
- Prior network within the Renewable Energy sector including key government departments and associations is a benefit.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey messages in plain-English.
- High-level communication and strong digital media skills, combined with a high level of creativity.
- In-depth knowledge of key audience values to select the ideal channel mix and achieve impactful communication goals.
- Highly developed relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
- Perseverance and ability to work in a fast paced and evolving project environment.
- Team player with proactive engagement and anticipation of key priorities.
