About the Role
We are seeking a battle-tested E-Commerce Operations Director to serve as the ultimate right-hand operational partner to the CEO and Chair. This high-consequence role acts as a vital structural layer to offload day-to-day tactical execution from the founder, allowing senior leadership to focus on macro growth.
You will step in as the team's ultimate traffic controller. Your mandate is to insulate leadership by absorbing day-to-day procedural questions, designing missing workflows from scratch, and organizing a fast-moving international team. We are explicitly hunting for a "Builder" personality rather than a "Maintainer" —someone who thrives in establishing structure amidst rapid scale and possesses the flexibility to handle a highly fluid operational environment.
What you’ll do
- Team Leadership & Resource Management: Directly lead a core operational team including the Supply Chain Manager, Data Analyst, and additional headcount TBD. Seamlessly adapt to a fluid team structure as headcount expands
- Process & Workflow Construction: Audit, build, and rebuild end-to-end operational processes across the entire business lifecycle—from initial product procurement coordinates down to final customer service metrics
- Cross-Functional Executive Coordination: Sit at the executive table to drive alignment with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Financial Controller, Head of Development, and VP of Marketing Operations
- Strategic Roadmap Execution: Own abstract, high-level strategic initiatives assigned by the Founder that lack an initial roadmap. Take them from loose concepts to entirely shipped, measurable business outcomes without needing hand-holding
- Financial Partnership: Partner closely with the Financial Controller/CFO on cash flow planning, scenario modeling, and financial forecasting to provide crystal-clear runway visibility for the executive board
- Operational Governance: Establish, maintain, and enforce strict operating cadences, clear KPIs, and rigid SOP disciplines across all international business units.
- AI Process Integration: Proactively identify manual operational friction points and design/roll out automated AI workflows (using Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to maximize lean efficiency
What You Bring
- Operations Leadership Experience: 2 to 5 years of direct operations leadership experience managing direct reports and orchestrating multi-layered team structures.
- Scale & Revenue Familiarity:
- Proven track record working within an e-commerce or DTC business generating at least $15 Million to $20 Million USD in annual revenue.
- You must understand how scale operates and what a mature operational structure looks like.
- DTC & E-commerce Domain Mastery: Deep, active operational understanding of direct-to-consumer or digital marketplace business models.
- International & Multicultural Coordination: Recent experience working across complex, multinational teams and varying time zones. While e-commerce mastery (e.g., Lazada systems) is highly valued, you must demonstrate a global corporate comfort level.
- “In-the-Trenches" Ownership: Your recent background must be heavily execution-based. We will not consider candidates coming purely from high-level management consulting, advisory circles, or strict maintenance roles that lack hands-on building ownership.
- Title & Background Openness: We are flexible on past titles. If you have successfully run a smaller operation as a COO, or directed a major branch as a Senior Operations Manager, we encourage you to apply
- Language Proficiency: Full professional fluency in written and verbal English is strictly required.
