Pros: Job security at GMD is pretty solid, especially for core engineering roles. I haven't seen major layoffs in the Austin, TX office in the two years I've been here. It feels more stable than some startups I've worked for in the past.
Cons: Growth opportunities can feel limited if you're not on a critical path project. There's not a clear path for promotion for some of us as Software Engineers, and sometimes it feels like the company is cautious with new investments.
Advice to Management: Management should invest more in defined career paths and professional development for Software Engineers. It would help retain talent and show commitment to employee growth.
