Solid job security, but growth is slow
Pros: Job security is pretty solid here for Implementation Consultant roles. They're a big corporate player in property management software, so it feels stable. The benefits package is also decent.
Cons: Career growth can be really slow, especially if you're remote from Denver like I was. Promotions don't happen often. Sometimes it feels like you're stuck in your current role.
Advice to Management: Management needs to focus more on internal career paths. Give us clear ways to grow beyond our current roles.

Decent Pay for Software Engineer, Benefits Are Just Okay
Pros: The salary for a Software Engineer here in the Cleveland office is competitive, especially for early to mid-career roles in real estate software. They do offer a pretty solid 401k match, which is a big plus.
Cons: Healthcare benefits aren't great; plans have high deductibles. There aren't many unique perks, so the overall compensation package for technical roles feels a bit dated compared to bigger tech companies.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the healthcare plans and consider adding more modern benefits to attract top talent, especially for senior technical roles in proptech.

Decent Flexibility for Software Engineer Roles
Pros: The remote work policy is a huge plus. As a Software Engineer, I really appreciate being able to manage my own time. This flexibility helps a lot in the real estate software industry.
Cons: While it's remote, sometimes you still feel tied to a 9-5 schedule with meeting heavy days. It's not truly asynchronous work, so there are limits to that flexibility.
Advice to Management: Try to reduce mandatory meeting blocks. Encourage more truly asynchronous work for remote roles, especially for engineering teams.

Growth is Possible, But You Need to Drive It
Pros: There's a decent amount of internal project diversity, so you can learn different parts of the property management software. As a Software Engineer, I could usually pick up new skills if I looked for them. They do offer some training resources.
Cons: Formal career progression isn't always clear for technical roles. You really need to push for promotions and new responsibilities. It's not a place where growth just happens passively.
Advice to Management: Create clearer, more transparent career paths and promotion criteria for all technical roles. Invest more in structured mentorship programs.

Culture is a bit of a mixed bag
Pros: The work flexibility is a big plus; being remote from Texas helped my work-life balance a lot. Benefits are solid for an enterprise software company. My direct team was always supportive and smart.
Cons: The company culture feels disconnected, especially after acquisitions. There's a lot of churn in leadership, which impacts strategic direction for us in software development. Communication often lags or isn't clear.
Advice to Management: Focus on consistent communication and building a cohesive culture across remote and office teams. Invest more in clear career paths for software development roles.
