Decent WLB, but depends on your team
Pros: I liked the remote flexibility; it really helped with personal appointments and family stuff. Most days as a Software Engineer, I could stick to a 40-hour week. The company does a decent job with paid time off and benefits for a mid-sized tech company.
Cons: Work-life balance can get tough when deadlines hit, sometimes leading to 50+ hour weeks. It's not always consistent, especially working on new cardiac monitoring features. There's pressure to deliver quickly, which can make it hard to truly disconnect.
Advice to Management: Try to balance project loads better across teams to prevent burnout during crunch times. Consistent expectations around work hours would improve morale for everyone, especially in engineering.

Job Security Is a Real Concern Right Now
Pros: The mission here is really solid, helping people with cardiac monitoring. I learned a lot working on medical device software development. The San Francisco office has a decent vibe when things are stable.
Cons: Job security here feels pretty low lately. There's been a lot of restructuring and layoffs hit. It makes you constantly worry about your future as a Software Engineer.
Advice to Management: Management needs to be more transparent about the company's direction. Clearer communication about changes would help with employee morale and job security fears.

Culture is a bit of a mixed bag
Pros: I got to learn a lot about healthcare tech and cardiac monitoring. Some of my engineering teammates were really supportive and smart. It's a stable company if you're looking for job security in medical devices.
Cons: The company culture can feel pretty bureaucratic. There's just too many meetings for remote Software Engineer roles, which cuts into coding time. Decision-making can be slow, which is tough for product development.
Advice to Management: Try to streamline decision processes and reduce meeting overload, especially for engineering teams. Foster a more collaborative culture across departments.
