Okay for Starting Out in Recruitment
Pros: If you're new to the recruitment industry, you'll definitely get a crash course here. They train you well on basic recruitment consultant skills and client management. You build a solid network pretty quickly working from the Singapore office.
Cons: Career progression here feels pretty limited after a couple of years. There aren't many clear paths for advancement beyond senior recruiter unless you jump ship. It's tough to move into a different kind of HR role internally.
Advice to Management: Management should really think about clearer career paths for experienced recruitment consultants. Give people more options than just sales targets to keep them engaged long-term.

Good start for new recruiting talent
Pros: You get to learn fast, which is great for new talent acquisition professionals. There's solid exposure to various client types and industries, so you quickly build a network and understand the recruiting industry.
Cons: Career growth can feel a bit undefined after the first year as a recruitment consultant. Progression for experienced consultants isn't always clear, and it feels like you're stuck at a certain level unless you really push for it.
Advice to Management: Create clearer progression paths for mid-level recruitment consultants. More structured training for internal promotion would help with retention and career growth within the company.

Fast-paced recruitment culture, good for learning
Pros: You really learn a lot in the recruitment industry here. The team, especially other Recruitment Consultants, is generally supportive. When you hit your targets, there's a strong sense of camaraderie and shared success. It's good exposure to various industries across Southeast Asia.
Cons: The culture can be pretty high-pressure. It feels like it's all about numbers, all the time. Work-life balance can suffer because of the long hours expected, and there isn't much work flexibility for onsite employees. Sometimes it feels like there's not enough focus on employee well-being beyond hitting sales goals.
Advice to Management: Focus more on sustainable work practices for Recruitment Consultants. A bit more empathy and less pure target-driven pressure would improve morale and potentially reduce turnover. Consider offering some form of hybrid work to attract top talent.

Leadership is a mixed bag, honestly.
Pros: You get a lot of autonomy in your day-to-day work, which is great for experienced Recruitment Consultants. The team itself is super supportive; everyone helps each other out when things get tough. Plus, the learning curve in talent acquisition is steep, which is good.
Cons: Leadership can be pretty inconsistent. There's often a lack of clear direction from top management, especially for new initiatives. Sometimes, it feels like micro-management instead of actual guidance, which gets frustrating in the Singapore office.
Advice to Management: Work on consistent communication and empower your managers more. Less micro-managing and more strategic guidance would really help the team thrive.

Job Security is Okay, Depends on Performance
Pros: As a Recruitment Consultant, you've got a decent shot at staying if you hit your targets. The client base in the recruitment industry here in Singapore seems pretty stable, which helps. There's usually a consistent flow of roles, so you're not scrambling.
Cons: But it's definitely a 'perform or go' kind of place. If your numbers dip for a couple of quarters, there's pressure and quick discussions. It's an onsite role, so no hiding from the daily metrics. You can feel a bit disposable if you're not consistently closing deals.

Decent flexibility for a recruitment agency role
Pros: They do offer hybrid work, which is good for recruitment consultant roles. You get some days in the Singapore office, some WFH, which helps with commuting.
Cons: But the WFH days aren't always guaranteed, and management can be inconsistent. There's not much flexibility for adjusting hours, even if you hit your targets.
Advice to Management: Try to be more consistent with work-from-home policies across teams. Giving more autonomy on work hours would boost morale and show trust in employees.

Leadership needs a bit more focus
Pros: You learn a lot about the headhunting process really fast here, especially for entry-level recruitment roles. The sales training is pretty decent, helping you build client relationships. It's a busy environment but you definitely get exposure to various industries.
Cons: Leadership felt inconsistent at times; there wasn't a clear vision. Communication from the top wasn't always great, making it tough to understand priorities for talent acquisition. It felt more like management than true leadership.
Advice to Management: Try to have more consistent communication and clear goals. Invest in leadership training for managers so they can inspire, not just manage, their Recruitment Consultant teams.

Flexibility is okay, but it's improving
Pros: They do offer a hybrid model now, which is a big plus. It's nice to have some WFH days each week. This helps a lot when you have personal appointments, especially working from the Singapore office.
Cons: Work flexibility isn't always consistent across teams. Some managers are stricter about onsite days for Recruitment Consultants. There's an expectation to be in for client meetings even on designated WFH days, which can be annoying.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the hybrid policy across all teams. More trust for Recruitment Consultants to manage their schedules, especially for internal tasks, would go a long way.

Okay Culture, But Be Ready To Hustle
Pros: You learn a ton, super fast, working with clients across the APAC region. The team within the Recruitment Consultant bench is really supportive. We celebrate wins together, which is nice in the Singapore office.
Cons: The pressure to hit sales targets is intense. It often feels like management prioritizes numbers over employee well-being. Work-life balance is tough, expect long hours daily.
Advice to Management: Try to foster a more supportive environment that balances high targets with employee welfare. More transparent communication from leadership would help improve trust.
