WFH is Good, Career Growth Not So Much
Pros: The work-from-home setup is great for a Medical Coder, offering real flexibility. My team is solid, and the medical billing software we use is generally fine. It's a pretty stable job in the healthcare industry.
Cons: Career growth is definitely slow here. There aren't many clear paths to move up. This is true especially for healthcare support roles like mine. You often feel stuck, and internal promotion isn't common.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into developing clearer career progression plans. It would help a lot with retention if there were more opportunities for growth beyond basic medical coding tasks.

Decent Flex, But Some Catch-Up Needed
Pros: The **remote work** option for us **Software Engineers** is a huge plus. I've been working from Dallas, TX, which really helps with personal appointments. It's a solid benefit for managing your personal life.
Cons: While they offer WFH, there's not much flexibility on core hours. You're expected to be online 9-5 PM EST, even if you're in a different time zone. It can feel a bit restrictive for a **mid-sized company** trying to appeal to modern tech talent.
Advice to Management: Consider more asynchronous work and true flexible hours for remote roles. Trust your employees more with their schedules, especially for **healthcare software development** teams.

Okay pay, benefits could be better
Pros: The base pay for a Medical Coder is pretty competitive for Orlando, FL. You get a solid health plan, which is important for us in healthcare.
Cons: Annual raises are usually tiny, barely covering cost of living. The 401k match isn't great, and there aren't many performance bonuses for remote roles like mine.
Advice to Management: Seriously look at the compensation packages for medical coding specialists. Better benefits and raises would make a big difference.
