Good Team Vibe, Management Needs Work
Pros: The team environment is super supportive, which is great for junior Recruiting Coordinator roles. We had solid monthly team events. It genuinely made working at this busy New York City consulting firm more enjoyable.
Cons: Upper management had a real 'sink or swim' vibe. It often felt like they didn't really support us. This attitude affected morale quite a bit for those of us in talent acquisition roles.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving leadership training and communication. Your best people are struggling with the lack of clear direction. Acknowledge and reward individual efforts more consistently.

Decent place, but pay could be better
Pros: The commission structure for placed candidates is pretty solid, especially if you hit your targets. Health benefits are okay for the recruitment industry, nothing super fancy but it gets the job done. The hybrid work model helps balance things out.
Cons: The base salary for a Recruitment Consultant feels a bit low for Chicago. It's tough to really get ahead unless you're constantly closing big deals. I also think the 401k match could be better; it's barely there.
Advice to Management: Seriously look at bumping up the base salaries for talent acquisition roles. A stronger 401k match would also make a huge difference in retaining good people here.

Work-Life Balance Can Be a Real Struggle Here
Pros: The team here is pretty supportive, especially for new folks starting in talent acquisition. You learn a lot quickly if you're keen on headhunting. Plus, the New York City office is in a decent spot.
Cons: Work-life balance as a Junior Recruiter is tough. Expect long hours, often working past 6 PM, especially during client pushes. The hybrid model means you're still commuting a lot.
Advice to Management: Try to set more realistic expectations for client delivery and manage workload better for recruiting roles. Burnout is real, especially for junior staff.
