Pros: You get some remote work options, which is nice for a startup. We could work from home two days a week, a decent hybrid model. This was super helpful for personal appointments or just avoiding the San Francisco commute.
Cons: Even with the hybrid model, there was pressure to be in the office more for collaborative AI development. Sometimes, team leads expected us onsite for critical machine learning project discussions. It felt like WFH days weren't always respected.
Advice to Management: Try to make the WFH days truly flexible for your AI development teams. Leadership needs to model using these options too.
