Project Coordinator
2.9

Okay culture, but lots of older processes
Pros: Job security is solid in the access solutions industry. As a Project Coordinator, I learned a lot about our product lines. The hybrid work option was good, and benefits are decent.
Cons: The company culture feels pretty stuck in the past. It's tough to get new ideas heard from younger employees. We're slow to adopt modern tech, which makes some internal processes feel really inefficient.
Advice to Management: Try to embrace newer technologies and listen more to the team, especially those in Project Coordinator roles. Updating internal systems and communication channels would help a lot for this corporate environment.

Okay for Project Managers, can be flexible
Pros: It's a big, established corporate company so there's some stability. As a Project Manager, I had a decent amount of autonomy to manage my schedule, especially with the hybrid work option. The Indianapolis office culture was mostly friendly.
Cons: Work-life balance can get tough during critical project phases, especially in the access solutions industry. Sometimes you're expected to put in extra hours to hit deadlines. It's not always a consistent 40-hour week.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize project timelines better to prevent crunch periods. More consistent support for Project Managers would help balance workloads.

Assembly Technician

Okay Pay, Benefits Could Use a Boost
Pros: The hourly wage for an Assembly Technician is pretty solid here. We get paid weekly, which is a real plus. There's also a decent 401k match that helps with retirement planning.
Cons: Healthcare costs are a big concern, especially for families. The deductible is quite high, making it tough to use. Benefits don't feel as competitive as they should for a corporate player in the access solutions industry.
Advice to Management: Look into improving the healthcare plans for employees. Reducing deductibles or offering more affordable family plans would make a huge difference.

Software Engineer

Flexibility is decent, but has limits
Pros: I appreciate the hybrid model for us as Software Engineers; we usually get 2-3 days remote. It's helpful for balancing personal stuff and a nice option to have in the physical security industry.
Cons: True work flexibility really depends on your manager and department. Not everyone in the Indianapolis, IN office gets the same WFH options, especially those in manufacturing. It can feel a bit unfair when others are always onsite.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize flexibility policies across all eligible departments, not just make it manager-dependent. More transparency on what roles can be truly remote would help.

Decent balance, but it varies a lot
Pros: The hybrid model is a big plus for work flexibility, which helps with personal commitments. Many corporate roles in the Indianapolis office have pretty standard 40-hour weeks. It's a stable company in the security industry, so job security feels solid.
Cons: As a Product Manager, I've definitely had to put in longer hours during critical phases for new access control systems. Some teams feel understaffed, pushing workloads higher and making a good work-life balance tough. Tight project deadlines can really stress things out.
Advice to Management: Please look into staffing levels for key project teams to prevent burnout. More transparent project prioritization would also really help manage employee workloads and expectations better.

Leadership Can Be Inconsistent Here
Pros: I liked my immediate team; they were great to work with. The benefits package is pretty solid, and for a global company in the security industry, it's generally stable. They also offer decent hybrid work flexibility.
Cons: Leadership quality really varies by department. Some managers are fantastic, others don't seem to have a clear vision or communicate well. This makes it tough for Project Manager roles trying to get things done. There's definitely room for improvement in upper management's direction.
Advice to Management: Invest in consistent leadership training across all departments. Clear communication from the top down would help everyone, especially those of us managing complex access control systems projects.
