Work-Life Balance Is Decent, Can Get Hectic
Pros: As a Software Engineer working remotely, I appreciate the flexibility. It's generally a 40-hour work week, which is solid for the tech industry. This helps balance personal commitments well.
Cons: Work-life balance here gets tricky when project deadlines loom. There's often pressure to put in extra hours for software development projects. It can be tough to truly log off some weeks.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project scope for new software development initiatives. Empower teams to push back on unrealistic deadlines more often, especially for remote employees. It'll help prevent burnout.

Culture is okay, but it's a bit much sometimes
Pros: I've learned a lot about modern software development practices here. The engineering team is really smart and supportive. We often collaborate well on new SaaS features. It's a decent place for professional growth.
Cons: The company culture can be a bit overbearing. There's a lot of pressure to participate in non-work events. It feels like forced fun sometimes. The expectation for 'always on' engagement is tough for work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Try to let company culture develop more organically. Not everyone wants forced 'fun' events. Respect personal time more.

Pay's decent, but benefits need work for tech roles
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer here is actually pretty decent for mid-level roles. I got a fair offer during salary negotiations, which was a plus. Also, the remote work flexibility is great for my work-life balance.
Cons: The benefits package isn't very competitive in the tech industry. Health insurance options are pretty basic, and the 401k match is surprisingly low. There isn't much in the way of performance bonuses either, which is a bummer.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the total compensation package. To attract and retain top Software Engineer talent, you really need to offer more competitive health benefits and a better 401k match. It's a big factor in the tech industry.
