Pros: The health benefits for full-time employees are pretty solid. They offer a decent 401k match after your first year here in the New York office. For a mid-sized firm, the pay is fine to start.
Cons: Base salary for a Junior Consultant isn't super competitive for this industry, especially in management consulting. Raises are slow, and you really have to fight for them. Plus, bonuses feel arbitrary and not tied to performance.
Advice to Management: Seriously rethink the compensation structure for all consulting roles. Make the bonus system more transparent; it would help morale.
