Decent for some, tough for others in tech
Pros: The hybrid work model is a solid perk at this mid-sized tech company, especially for software engineer roles. It offers good flexibility when I need to be remote from Austin, TX. I can often manage my 40-hour weeks, which is a plus.
Cons: Project deadlines for software development can get really intense, leading to longer hours. This definitely impacts work-life balance more than I'd like. There's pressure to constantly deliver, making it tough to truly disconnect.
Advice to Management: Really look at project scoping and realistic deadlines. Encourage teams to disconnect and respect personal time, especially for engineering roles.

Decent Stability, Room for Growth
Pros: For engineering roles, there's a pretty good sense of job security once you're past probation. They don't do crazy mass layoffs like some other places in the tech industry, which is a relief.
Cons: Promotions feel slow to come by, so career growth as a Software Engineer can feel stagnant sometimes. It's not a place for quick jumps, and leadership isn't always transparent about upward mobility.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer, more consistent paths for career advancement. Regular, honest feedback could really help boost morale and retention, especially for the folks in the San Francisco office.

Leadership is Decent, but Has Room to Grow
Pros: My direct manager was pretty supportive and gave good feedback. For a remote product manager role, the work-life balance was surprisingly decent most weeks. I appreciated the effort by some senior leaders to be transparent.
Cons: Sometimes it felt like there wasn't a clear vision from top leadership, especially for new product initiatives. Decisions could change quickly, making project planning tough for my team. Communication across different departments was a real struggle in our hybrid model.
Advice to Management: Work on clearer strategic direction and consistent messaging from the top. Improve cross-functional communication, especially in the hybrid setup, so projects run smoother and teams aren't left guessing. Invest in more leadership training for mid-level managers too.
