Decent Base, Benefits Need a Boost Here
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer in the EV charging sector isn't terrible for a startup. They do offer a 401k match, which is a solid plus.
Cons: Stock options aren't great; the valuation feels low. Health insurance premiums are pretty high for individual coverage, especially in the expensive San Francisco area. No performance bonuses makes it tough.
Advice to Management: Look at increasing the stock option pool and improving health insurance plans. It'd help attract and retain top talent in this competitive EV infrastructure market, especially for engineers.

Decent Mission, Culture's a Bit Mixed
Pros: The mission for electric vehicle charging is solid, and you feel like you're contributing to something important. As a Software Engineer, I got to work on cutting-edge EV infrastructure. People are passionate and genuinely smart in the San Francisco office.
Cons: The company culture can feel really disconnected, which is tough for a growing startup. Team building and social events are pretty rare, making it hard to feel like a cohesive unit. Management talks a good game about culture but often falls short on execution.
Advice to Management: Focus more on tangible team-building initiatives and less on just talking about 'culture'. For us Software Engineer roles and others, a more structured approach to collaboration could help. Invest in actual employee connection beyond just work tasks.
