Culture is okay, but it's a corporate vibe
Pros: As a Software Engineer in the Nottingham office, I definitely picked up a lot about the compliance software industry. My immediate team was great; we had a solid bond and often helped each other out. The hybrid work model they offer is pretty decent too, which helped with work-life balance.
Cons: But the company culture overall felt really corporate and a bit formal. It's a mid-sized tech company now, so there wasn't much space for us individual contributors to really innovate. Decision-making could be tough to understand, and sometimes it just felt like you were a small part of a big machine.
Advice to Management: Try to encourage more innovation from the engineering teams. Loosen up the corporate feel a bit to retain good talent.

Leadership can be a mixed bag here
Pros: Some of the direct team leads are pretty solid. They genuinely care about their teams and the software development process. The remote work setup is great, offering good flexibility if you're working from home.
Cons: Upper management often feels out of touch. Strategic decisions for a SaaS business aren't always clear to us on the ground. There's a lack of transparency that can be frustrating for a Software Engineer trying to deliver.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving communication channels from the top down. Be more transparent about company direction and product strategy. Listen to your individual contributors and mid-level managers; they have valuable insights.

Solid Work-Life Balance for a Tech Company
Pros: The work-life balance as a Software Engineer is actually decent. They're big on remote work, which helps a ton with WFH flexibility. You can usually clock out after your 8 hours without much fuss, which is refreshing in the software industry.
Cons: Sometimes project deadlines mean a bit of crunch, which is tough. There aren't always strict boundaries for GRC solutions releases, so you might have to push a bit on those weeks. It's not constant, but it happens.
Advice to Management: Keep supporting the remote options and try to better scope projects to avoid last-minute crunch periods for your engineering teams.

Leadership's Vision is There, Execution is Tough
Pros: You'll find some really smart people here, especially on the product side. Some individual managers are approachable and genuinely try to support you as a Product Manager. The hybrid work model is good, offering decent flexibility for your schedule.
Cons: The biggest challenge is leadership's changing priorities. We often get a new strategic direction, then it shifts again before we can properly implement it for our GRC solutions. There's sometimes a disconnect between executive decisions and the reality on the ground, especially for us working in the Nottingham office. It's tough on team morale.
Advice to Management: Try to stick to a clear strategy for longer than a few months. Involve middle management and the teams actually building the GRC software more in decision-making processes. It would really help with consistency and team buy-in.

Pay is okay, but benefits need a boost
Pros: The base salary as a Software Engineer was actually pretty competitive for the local market in Nottingham, UK. They do annual reviews, so there's some chance for pay raises which is good. You also get a decent pension contribution.
Cons: The benefits are pretty standard, nothing really stands out. Healthcare options aren't great, and things like dental or vision are basic at best. For a growing mid-sized company in the regulatory compliance software space, I'd expect more comprehensive perks.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the benefits package to be more competitive. Look at what similar tech firms offer, especially in the health and wellness space. Better benefits would really help with employee retention and attraction.

Fast Growth, Culture's a Bit Mixed Now
Pros: The team when I joined was really solid. We worked well together on different regulatory compliance projects. Remote work is pretty flexible, which helps with work-life balance.
Cons: With all the acquisitions, the company culture feels disjointed now. It's hard to feel connected, and as an Implementation Consultant, I often feel like just another cog. There's not much sense of shared purpose anymore.
Advice to Management: Focus on integrating teams better after acquisitions. Try to rebuild a unified company culture across different business units for everyone, especially those working remote.

Work-life balance is okay, but can be tough
Pros: The hybrid work model is a solid perk, letting you WFH a couple of days a week. For us Software Engineers in the Nottingham office, it really helps break up the week and offers decent work flexibility.
Cons: However, deadlines on new regulatory compliance software features can get crazy. I've definitely had weeks pushing 50+ hours, and it makes maintaining a good work-life balance tough, especially for a mid-sized tech company.
Advice to Management: Management should really look at workload distribution, especially within the development teams for our key SaaS solutions. It's tough to maintain good work-life balance when constantly dealing with tight deadlines on the core product.

Okay culture, but can be a bit slow
Pros: I've enjoyed the flexibility of the hybrid work arrangement, especially with the Nottingham office. Most folks are genuinely collaborative, which helps a lot within the engineering teams. There's a decent sense of stability here, which you don't always get in the tech world.
Cons: However, the company culture can feel a bit slow for a modern enterprise software company. Decision-making for new features often gets bogged down in bureaucracy. It's not the best place for rapid career growth if you're an individual contributor.
Advice to Management: Focus on speeding up innovation and clearly defining career paths for individual contributors. Cut down on unnecessary bureaucracy to empower teams more.

Pay is just okay for the software industry
Pros: The health insurance options are actually pretty solid for a company in the software industry. Having a hybrid work model here in the Boston, MA office helps a bit with saving on daily commute costs, which is a definite plus.
Cons: Salaries for QA Analyst roles just aren't competitive for the Boston market. I've found compensation reviews are super slow, and annual base pay increases are often minimal, even with good performance. It's hard to justify staying long-term with the current pay scale.
Advice to Management: Please take a serious look at market rates for all roles, especially for technical positions like QA Analyst in the Boston area. Better compensation and more transparent salary bands will definitely help attract and retain top talent.

Leadership needs to listen more, good people
Pros: The people here are really great; strong teams across the Nottingham, UK office. I've worked on some interesting governance, risk, and compliance projects. It's a solid place for learning new skills, which helps my career as a GRC Consultant.
Cons: Leadership sometimes feels a bit out of touch with daily operations. Key decisions can come down without much explanation or input from the teams. This often makes project planning tougher for us.
Advice to Management: Try to get more feedback from the teams doing the actual work. It's tough when strategies change without clear reasons for us on the front lines. Better communication would help everyone.
