Pros: You'll learn a ton from the senior engineers on infrastructure projects. The work itself, especially in civil engineering, is often really interesting and hands-on. Plus, they have a pretty decent WFH policy, usually letting us work remote 2-3 days a week.
Cons: The biggest issue is leadership; they often seem out of touch with what's actually happening on the ground. For a Project Engineer, career growth feels slow and the path to promotion isn't very clear. It's a big international firm, so you also deal with a lot of bureaucratic processes.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to listen more to the teams working on the actual projects. Try to understand the daily challenges and realities better before making big decisions. Also, make career development and promotion paths much clearer for people like Project Engineers.
