Growth is Slow Here for Logistics Pros
Pros: The job security for freight forwarding is solid. My team was pretty good, and the hybrid WFH option in the Atlanta office was nice. It's a stable company if you're not trying to move up fast.
Cons: Career growth for Logistics Coordinator roles is tough. There aren't many opportunities for promotion, and formal training for skill development is limited. You often feel stuck in your role here.
Advice to Management: Management should really invest more in career development programs and create clearer paths for advancement. Offer more training for employees in the freight forwarding and supply chain industry.

Okay Work-Life if You Manage Your Time
Pros: The Atlanta, GA office has some good folks, and my direct manager was understanding when I needed to shift things. They do offer a decent amount of PTO, which helps during slower times in the supply chain. You can make the hybrid model work if you're proactive.
Cons: It's a large corporate environment so things can feel rigid. As a Logistics Coordinator, you can get swamped with shipping issues and tight deadlines, especially during peak seasons. There isn't much flexibility when client demands come in late.
Advice to Management: Try to empower managers more to give their teams flexibility during high-demand periods. Better tools for managing shipping workflows could also ease the burden on coordinators.

Decent Balance for Logistics Work, Can Be Busy
Pros: As a Logistics Coordinator in the Miami office, I usually had pretty standard 40-hour weeks. There was some flexibility with start times if you needed to shift things around, which was a real plus for personal appointments. It's decent for an onsite role in the logistics industry.
Cons: The work-life balance here can get tough during peak shipping seasons or when we had staffing shortages. I've definitely had weeks where it stretched to 50+ hours, which isn't great. Sometimes it feels like you're always on call, even after hours.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into better staffing during peak times to reduce overtime for those in freight forwarding roles. More clear boundaries for after-hours contact would also help a lot.
