Okay flexibility for construction roles

Pros: As a Site Supervisor, I was mostly onsite for the civil engineering projects. But the company was decent if you needed to leave early for a doctor's appointment. They'd usually approve it if the project schedule allowed.
Cons: Don't expect any work from home or hybrid options, especially for site-based roles. It's just not how things work in this mid-sized construction company. Flexibility is tough in our Kuala Lumpur operations.

Pros: As a Project Coordinator, I've learned a lot about onsite operations. You get decent exposure to different aspects of the construction industry here in Kuala Lumpur.
Cons: Career growth feels really slow; it's hard to move up. There aren't many clear promotion paths for mid-level roles, which can be frustrating.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into creating more structured career paths. Invest in development programs for employees to improve their skills and encourage growth. Show more

Work-Life Balance Is a Challenge Here

Pros: The team is genuinely supportive, which helps a lot during tough project deadlines. For a mid-sized construction firm in Kuala Lumpur, the pay is pretty decent, especially if you get overtime.
Cons: Work-life balance here isn't great, honestly. We often worked 60-hour weeks, and sometimes even Saturdays for critical site work. It's just the nature of construction, but it takes a toll on your personal life.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project timelines. Encourage more breaks for onsite teams and consider implementing a mandatory full weekend off where possible to improve work-life balance. Show more
