Tough Hours, Zero Flexibility for Project Engineers
As a Project Engineer, my time here at Speed Master M Construction Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur was okay. It's a typical corporate setup in the construction industry. There's good learning, but you really gotta grind for it.
The team on the project sites is really solid; we work well together. They always pay on time, which is a big deal for the construction industry. You can learn a lot about different construction methods here too.
Work-life balance is pretty bad. Expect very long hours as a Project Engineer. There's almost no work flexibility for onsite staff; WFH just isn't an option. Management doesn't seem to care much about staff burnout.
Please consider adding some form of flexibility or support for site-based Project Engineers. It would really help with morale and reduce turnover.
