Pros: Working at Tesla, especially in EV manufacturing, is super exciting. You learn a ton really fast, and the pace is always pushing new boundaries. For an engineer, the exposure to cutting-edge technology and processes is unmatched in the automotive industry.
Cons: Job security isn't great here, especially with the constant restructuring and layoffs. There's always pressure, and if you're in a production role like me as a Manufacturing Engineer in the Fremont factory, it's intense. You can feel pretty disposable sometimes; the high turnover is a real concern.
Advice to Management: Managers need to focus more on employee retention and stability. Constant fear of layoffs really hurts morale. Invest in your people, not just your products.
