Decent but demands a lot from engineers
Pros: For a big tech company in gaming hardware, the team is pretty passionate about what we do. You get to work on cool peripherals and the office vibe in Irvine, CA is lively. It's rewarding to see products you helped build on the market.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough for software engineers here. Expect longer hours, especially around product launches and major firmware updates. Remote work isn't really a thing for core development roles; it's mostly onsite in the office.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project timelines better to avoid constant crunch. Offer more flexibility, like hybrid options, especially for experienced engineering roles. It would help retain talent long-term.

Razer's Pay and Perks Are Just So-So
Pros: Working in the gaming hardware industry is super cool, especially as a Software Engineer. The San Francisco office has a great vibe, and you get decent product discounts. It's a fun environment for passionate gamers.
Cons: Base salary for engineering roles just isn't competitive with big tech companies. The benefits package feels pretty average; health insurance could definitely be better. Annual bonuses are often disappointing, not great for a mid-sized tech company.
Advice to Management: Seriously re-evaluate the compensation structure, especially for engineering talent. Benchmark against other consumer electronics and tech industry competitors to attract and retain top talent. Better health benefits would be a huge plus.
