Hybrid model has its perks and downsides
Pros: I liked the flexibility for my software engineer role, especially for personal appointments. You get two WFH days a week, which is pretty good for a mid-sized tech company. The San Francisco office is also nice.
Cons: The 3-day onsite requirement is strict. There's not much room to shift WFH days if something urgent comes up. It feels a bit inflexible for a modern tech firm, especially when other companies offer more remote options.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more flexibility for WFH days or a fully remote option for certain roles. It'd really help with employee morale and retention, especially for senior software engineers.

Okay Culture, Needs More Cohesion
Pros: I like the people I work with daily. Everyone on my immediate team, especially for us Software Engineer roles, is really supportive. There's a lot of flexibility working remote from Austin, which is great.
Cons: The overall company culture feels a bit disconnected. It's tough to build strong bonds outside your direct team, even with virtual events. Some of the decisions from top leadership don't always trickle down well to individual contributors.
Advice to Management: Try to find better ways to foster company-wide culture, not just within teams. More focused engagement for remote employees could really help bridge the gaps.
