Solid Project Work, But Job Security Varies
Pros: You get to work on some really big construction projects, especially for the semiconductor industry. As a Project Engineer, I learned a ton about advanced facilities. The pay and benefits are pretty good here.
Cons: Job security can feel a bit shaky between major contracts. It's tough for onsite staff in the Phoenix office when project cycles end. There isn't always a clear next step for all roles.
Advice to Management: Try to create more consistent roles or better transition plans for employees between large construction projects. Improve communication during slower periods to ease job security concerns.

Project Engineering at Exyte: It's a Push.
Pros: The teams are great, and I've learned a ton about high-tech facilities construction. When deadlines aren't crushing, there's decent flexibility for an onsite role in the Austin, TX office. Pay is solid for the industry.
Cons: Work-life balance here is a constant struggle, especially on critical semiconductor projects. Long hours are expected, easily 50-60 hour weeks, which makes personal life tough. It's hard to maintain any real work flexibility when things get intense.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project loads for Project Engineer roles. Acknowledge the long hours and offer more consistent support or dedicated downtime after intense phases on high-tech facilities.

High-intensity projects, but good team support
Pros: The project teams are usually solid, and you learn a ton on complex high-tech construction projects. There's good exposure for career development in this global corporate firm. You definitely grow your technical skills here.
Cons: Work-life balance is tough for Project Engineer roles, especially in the Phoenix, AZ office. Expect 50-60 hour weeks when deadlines hit for semiconductor projects. Remote work isn't really an option for these onsite positions, which means less flexibility.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project scope better to prevent burnout on major construction projects. More focus on sustainable workloads would really help retain our engineering talent.
