Decent Pay, But Benefits Could Be Better

As a Software Engineer at SAP, the pay was generally competitive for big tech, especially for remote roles. However, some benefits felt a bit behind other companies in the enterprise software space, and raises weren't always substantial.


Pros

Base salary for Software Engineers was pretty solid, especially working remote from Dallas. The health insurance package was decent, and there's a good 401k match, which is nice.


Cons

Pay raises often felt minimal after the initial offer. Equity refreshers weren't guaranteed, which is tough compared to other big tech firms. You really have to fight for market-competitive compensation after a couple of years.


Advice to Management

Focus on more competitive annual raises and clearer paths for equity refreshers for Software Engineers. Keeping compensation competitive is key for retaining talent in enterprise software.
