Leadership is hit or miss, depends on your team
Working at S&P Global, especially in the New York City office, had its ups and downs. While the company is stable and offers good resources for financial data analysis, the leadership quality really varied by department. Some teams had great managers, others not so much.
You get access to solid financial data resources as a Data Analyst. There's a lot of knowledge in the corporate structure if you find the right mentors. The hybrid model works pretty well for office days.
Leadership can be pretty disconnected from day-to-day operations. It felt like some managers lacked a clear vision for their teams, especially with long-term projects. Communication from the top sometimes felt really slow.
Invest more in leadership training for mid-level managers. Encourage more transparent communication from senior leadership regarding company strategy and changes. Help managers develop clear roadmaps for their teams.
