Solid place for industrial work, but culture is mixed
Pros: I like the job stability you get here as a Field Service Technician. The pay and benefits for industrial equipment roles are decent, especially with the 401k matching. You also learn a lot about various compressor systems, which is great for career development. It's a big corporate company so there are resources.
Cons: The company culture feels pretty traditional. Innovation is slow, and sometimes ideas don't get much traction. It's mostly onsite work, even for management, so work flexibility isn't great. There isn't always clear communication from leadership about big changes.
Advice to Management: Try to foster more innovation and listen to feedback from field teams. Better communication about company direction would help employees feel more connected.

Hybrid Options Are Okay, Could Be Better
Pros: As an Applications Engineer, the hybrid model was pretty good for me. I got a couple of WFH days each week in the Charlotte office, which really helped my work-life balance. It's a solid perk for office-based roles.
Cons: True flexibility often feels limited though. You're expected to be onsite a lot for project work in this industrial manufacturing industry. It's not a remote-first setup, so you can't always just work from home.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more consistent remote options for roles that truly don't require daily onsite presence. This would really help with retention in the engineering and technical fields.

Pay is solid for Field Service, benefits okay
Pros: As a Field Service Technician in Charlotte, NC, the base pay is pretty solid for the industrial equipment service sector. You get decent health insurance, which is a plus for a big corporate company like Ingersoll Rand.
Cons: The annual raises aren't great, barely keeping up with inflation. The 401k match isn't anything special, and dental coverage is just okay. It's not a place for top-tier benefits.
Advice to Management: Review the benefits package, especially the 401k match and raise structure. It would help retain talent in critical Field Service Technician roles, particularly in competitive markets like Charlotte.
