Sales Representative

Okay company, but career path can be tough
Pros: The compensation package for sales roles is pretty competitive. They have good benefits and a solid 401k match. Plus, working from the Milton, Ontario office offered good team camaraderie.
Cons: Career growth here is genuinely slow for most. As a Sales Representative, promotions weren't clear, even with hitting targets. There isn't much internal mobility across different departments in this big corporate structure.
Advice to Management: Focus more on clear pathways for career advancement, especially for individual contributors. Define what it takes to get to the next level within the building materials sector.

Solid Pay for Hard Work at Rockwool
Pros: As a Production Associate at ROCKWOOL Group in Milton, Ontario, the hourly pay is solid for the insulation manufacturing industry. The 401k match is pretty good, and the health benefits package is decent for a global company. It's a stable job with competitive pay for onsite work.
Cons: Annual raises usually aren't that big, so it's hard to get a huge pay bump without a promotion. There isn't much flexibility in the initial salary offer for these production roles. You've often got to work a lot of overtime to really see a significant increase in your take-home pay.
Advice to Management: Look into more frequent or more substantial pay reviews for long-term employees to encourage retention.

Decent for a manufacturing plant
Pros: For a global manufacturing company, the work-life balance for production engineers is surprisingly decent. Most weeks are a standard 40 hours. Overtime isn't pushed too hard, which is a big plus in this industrial sector.
Cons: Sometimes you feel stuck with limited work flexibility, especially since it's an onsite role. There's not much wiggle room if you need to adjust your schedule. The plant operates 24/7, so emergencies can crop up at odd hours.
Advice to Management: Try to offer more flexible scheduling options for onsite staff. Even small adjustments can make a big difference for employee morale, especially for those in critical production roles.
