Automation Engineer

Decent Pay, But Benefits Could Be Better
Pros: The base salary for my Automation Engineer role was pretty competitive, especially compared to other industrial automation firms in the Richmond, VA area. I felt it was a solid starting point for someone with my experience. They do offer some good medical coverage options.
Cons: However, the yearly bonus structure isn't very clear, and it often felt low. The 401k match isn't fantastic; you really need to push for more in negotiation. Also, the PTO accrual rate felt slow, especially for a large corporate company.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the 401k matching program and make the bonus structure more transparent and rewarding. Improve PTO accrual, especially for long-term employees.

Decent Place for Supply Chain, Growth is Okay
Pros: I've learned a lot about logistics solutions, especially with warehouse automation projects. The work is pretty diverse, which is good experience for a Supply Chain Consultant. Plus, the hybrid work model is a nice perk.
Cons: Career progression for consultants isn't always clear. It feels like you hit a ceiling pretty fast here in the Raleigh office. There aren't many defined paths to move up unless someone leaves.
Advice to Management: Create clearer development plans and mentorship programs for consultant roles. It would help retain talent if paths for advancement were more transparent.

Software Engineer

Growth here is slow for tech roles
Pros: Job security is solid here at this big corporate company. The hybrid work model in Hamburg is pretty flexible, which is good for personal life. Teams are supportive and people are generally helpful.
Cons: Career growth as a Software Engineer is tough. Internal promotions feel really slow. There aren't many clear paths for moving up in industrial software.
Advice to Management: Create clearer development tracks for engineers. Invest more in internal training and mentorship programs to help people advance beyond just senior individual contributor roles. It's tough to see a path forward sometimes.
