Leadership's okay, but needs more vision
Pros: My direct manager was usually pretty supportive, which helps a lot when you're dealing with complex industrial technology. There's a lot of stability in power tool manufacturing here, so job security feels solid, and many team leads are genuinely good people.
Cons: However, upper management can be really slow to make decisions, which is frustrating in a big corporate setting. It feels like there's not enough clear direction for innovation in the Mount Prospect, IL office, and it can be hard to get new product ideas approved.
Advice to Management: Upper management needs to work on providing a clearer vision for the future and speeding up decision-making processes. Empower your teams more and trust them to innovate, especially in such a competitive market.

Solid Job Security at a Global Company
Pros: Job security is definitely a big plus here. As a Manufacturing Engineer, I always felt pretty secure in my role, even during shaky economic times. It's a global corporate giant, so there's a lot of stability in the power tool manufacturing sector. You won't worry much about sudden layoffs.
Cons: Things move slowly. Decision-making can be a really long process in the Mount Prospect, IL office. It's not the place if you want to climb the ladder super fast; internal promotions are often tough. Also, innovation in processes sometimes lags behind.
Advice to Management: Speed up decision-making processes and invest more in innovative solutions within the power tool manufacturing industry. Empower teams to move faster.
