Decent pay, but benefits need work.
Pros: As a Quality Control Analyst, my base salary was pretty good for the pharmaceutical industry. You also get a decent annual bonus, which is always nice.
Cons: The health insurance options aren't great, honestly. Superannuation contributions could definitely be more competitive too, especially for a family-owned company. It's an area they should improve.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into enhancing the employee benefits package, especially for health and retirement. It'd help retain talent in the competitive pharmaceutical market.

Decent work-life balance, but expect busy periods
Pros: I've been a Marketing Coordinator here for a while. The standard 40-hour week is mostly respected. You usually don't have to take work home, which is good for family time.
Cons: Sometimes, during big product launches, things get pretty intense. It's an onsite role at the Melbourne office, so there's not much work-from-home flexibility. The company expects a lot when deadlines are tight.
Advice to Management: Management should really consider offering some hybrid options, even just one day a week. It would hugely improve work-life balance for onsite roles in the pharmaceutical industry, especially during busy periods.

Okay Flexibility, Depends on Your Team
Pros: Some departments, especially in certain R&D areas, offer hybrid options. It's good that a family-owned company like this is open to some flexibility. Booking personal appointments during work hours is usually fine if you communicate.
Cons: True work-from-home (WFH) isn't common for most roles, especially lab-based ones. For the Melbourne office, it's often 1-2 days remote max, which feels a bit behind the curve. The pharmaceutical industry is changing, but policies here are slow to adapt.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing a more consistent and generous hybrid work policy across all departments, especially for roles that don't require daily lab presence. Modernizing work arrangements could really help with talent retention in the pharmaceutical industry.
