Leadership is hit or miss here
Pros: You find some solid technical mentors among the senior engineers. This helps a lot with developing skills in power solutions. Job security feels pretty stable for technical roles, even as an international company.
Cons: The leadership team can be pretty inconsistent. They don't always communicate changes clearly to project teams. Decision-making for new UPS systems often feels super slow.
Advice to Management: Focus on better leadership training across the board. Improve communication and transparency with project teams. Faster decisions on new product initiatives would be a huge plus.

Culture is okay, but it's a bit slow
Pros: Solid job security for Field Service Engineers. We got pretty stable 40-hour weeks, which is nice. The Greenville, SC office has some genuinely good people and decent electrical systems to work with.
Cons: The company culture can feel pretty rigid. It's a typical European corporate vibe where decisions take ages to come down the pipeline. Don't expect a lot of agility or quick changes.
Advice to Management: Try to empower teams more and speed up decision-making. Embrace new ideas faster to keep up in the power control industry. A little more work flexibility would go a long way.

Decent Work Flexibility, Room for Improvement
Pros: The company really embraced a hybrid model after COVID, which is a big plus. For us in engineering roles, you can often work from home a couple of days. This helps with work-life balance in the Strasbourg, France office, cutting down on the commute.
Cons: It's not truly flexible across the board though. Some departments, especially those tied to manufacturing or labs for critical power solutions, have to be onsite all the time. There's no real full-time remote option if you're an Electrical Engineer, which can be tough. Management can be a bit rigid about WFH for certain projects.
Advice to Management: Management should really look at how to offer more consistent work flexibility across all teams. It would boost morale and help attract top engineering talent, especially for critical power projects. Don't be so rigid with WFH policies.

Solid Company, Decent Job Security for Tech Roles
Pros: The company's been around forever in the power solutions industry, so there's good stability. As a Field Service Technician, I always had work; demand for electrical infrastructure is constant. It's a mid-sized corporate environment, not a startup roller coaster.
Cons: While secure, growth can feel slow. Sometimes it feels like you're stuck unless someone retires. There's not always a clear path upwards, which can be tough if you're looking for quick career advancement in the Alpharetta, GA office.
Advice to Management: Try to create clearer paths for career progression for technical staff. It would help with retention if people felt they could move up within power solutions roles.

Solid experience, but growth can be slow
Pros: You get deep knowledge in critical power and electrical equipment here. The initial training for Sales Engineers is pretty thorough. It's also a stable, corporate type of place, so job security felt decent.
Cons: Career growth is definitely slow, especially in sales. I didn't see many paths for moving up. It felt like you had to wait for someone to retire to get promoted. Not much internal movement.
Advice to Management: They should really work on defining clearer career paths. More opportunities for internal promotion would make a big difference for employee retention.

Solid Job Security for Engineers
Pros: The job security for an Electrical Engineer is pretty good. It's a stable company in the power switching equipment industry, so there's always a demand for critical power infrastructure. I've found it's a safe place to work if you perform well in the Alpharetta, GA office.
Cons: While job security is there, career growth isn't always clear. It can feel a bit stagnant if you're looking for rapid advancement or new challenges. There's not much flexibility for remote work either, it's mostly onsite.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating clearer career paths and opportunities for engineers. It would help retain talent if there was more upward mobility and challenging projects to work on.

Stable Work in Critical Power
Pros: As a Field Service Technician, my job security feels pretty good here. We're always busy with installations and maintenance for UPS systems and other electrical solutions. It's an established company; you don't worry about layoffs constantly like at some startups.
Cons: While stable, career progression for service roles can feel a bit slow. Some of the decisions from the corporate office in France don't always make sense for our regional operations in Chicago, IL. It's not a place for rapid promotions.
Advice to Management: Improve internal communication between global and local teams. Invest more in clear career paths for technical employees in North America.

Okay culture, but needs some modernizing.
Pros: I've found a solid team spirit in the Marseille office. People generally help each other out, especially in my Technical Support Specialist role. It's a pretty stable place because it's a long-standing family-owned corporate group.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit old-school sometimes. Decision-making for new power solutions initiatives feels slow. There's not much push for work flexibility; it's mostly an onsite setup.
Advice to Management: Try to embrace more modern work practices and encourage innovation. Speed up decision-making for new technologies and consider more flexible work options for employees.

Pay is okay, benefits could be better
Pros: The base salary for a Field Service Engineer is pretty decent for the electrical equipment manufacturing industry. I started around $70k, which was competitive then. They do offer a 401k match, which is a solid perk. Plus, a company vehicle provided for field-based work saves a lot.
Cons: Bonuses aren't very transparent and they're usually small. It's tough to understand how they're calculated. Healthcare plans aren't the best; deductibles are high for a global corporate. Didn't see much in terms of raises beyond cost-of-living increases, even with good performance.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the healthcare plan options and make bonus structures clearer and more rewarding. Invest more in competitive salary growth for long-term employees, especially for technical roles.
