Pretty Stable for a Mid-Sized Tech Company
Pros: BJAK offers solid job security, especially for Software Engineers. I didn't worry about layoffs much, which is rare in the current tech climate. The WFH flexibility here is also a big plus.
Cons: Career growth for individual contributors can feel pretty slow in this Austin, TX office. Don't expect rapid promotions or a huge pay jump without really pushing for it. Compensation isn't always top-tier compared to other tech companies.
Advice to Management: Focus more on clear career paths for senior individual contributors to keep them engaged. Maybe review compensation bands to stay competitive with other Austin tech companies.

BJAK: Good for engineers, but culture needs work.
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the people here are generally really supportive. There's solid collaboration within the engineering teams, which is great for a big tech company. I've also really appreciated the flexible WFH options from my Austin, TX base.
Cons: The company culture feels pretty disconnected sometimes, especially for us working remotely. Leadership doesn't always communicate important changes well from the top. It's tough to build strong bonds in this hybrid environment.
Advice to Management: Focus on building stronger connections between employees, especially across different teams and for those working remotely. Improve communication from the top down regarding company changes and strategy.

Hybrid model has pros and cons here
Pros: We get two WFH days a week, which is solid. This hybrid model helps me manage personal stuff, especially as a Software Engineer. The tech industry sometimes demands long hours, so any flexibility is a plus.
Cons: But the onsite requirements can be pretty rigid in the Seattle office. You can't just switch your WFH days if something comes up. It feels like they could offer more autonomy for engineering roles.
Advice to Management: Loosen up on the mandatory in-office days. Trust your teams, especially for technical roles, to get the work done.
