Solid Culture, Needs Some Fine-Tuning

Worked as a Data Scientist at ADA for a few years. It's a decent mid-sized tech company. The culture is mostly good, but there are definitely areas that could be better, especially with recent growth.

Pros

The teams are really collaborative here. As a Data Scientist, I felt supported by my peers and it's easy to get help on complex data analytics projects. Plus, the hybrid model in the New York office is pretty flexible, which is a big plus for work-life balance.

Cons

Leadership changes recently have made things a bit confusing, and it feels like there's less clear direction for our AI solutions roadmap. Sometimes, there's just not enough recognition for the hard work, which can feel a bit draining. The company culture here could use more consistent messaging from the top.

Advice to Management

Management needs to get on the same page and communicate priorities clearly. It's tough when there are so many changes at the top; it impacts morale for the whole team. Also, more recognition would go a long way in boosting engagement.

Work-life is okay for remote roles
Pros: For a tech company, the work-life balance as a Data Analyst was pretty decent. I mostly kept to 40-hour weeks, which isn't always true in adtech. The remote work setup from Seattle, WA really helped manage my personal time.
Cons: There were definitely periods with tight project deadlines, causing some late nights. Global team meetings could push into the evenings, making it harder to fully log off. It's not a consistent 9-5.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize meeting times to better accommodate all time zones. More upfront planning for big projects would help avoid last-minute crunch.

Job security okay, but some internal changes.
Pros: As a Data Analyst, I felt pretty secure in my day-to-day work. The core business in the tech industry seems stable, so you're not constantly worried about the company folding. There's good hybrid work flexibility too.
Cons: There's been a lot of restructuring lately, especially with management. It makes you wonder about the long-term plan, even if my specific role felt okay. Remote workers sometimes feel a bit out of the loop on these shifts.
Advice to Management: Communicate more clearly about internal changes and restructuring efforts. Transparency helps a lot with employee morale and reduces job security concerns across all levels.

Culture's okay, but needs a boost.
Pros: The team spirit among fellow Data Analyst roles in the Austin office was genuinely good. We supported each other on tough data analytics projects. There were decent team happy hours too.
Cons: Communication from top leadership in this digital marketing firm could be pretty vague. It often felt like decisions were made without much input. The hybrid model wasn't always consistent across teams.
Advice to Management: Please work on being more transparent with company strategy and team changes. A more consistent hybrid work policy would also really help with morale and planning.
