Leadership's Alright, Some Areas Need Work
Pros: The benefits package is pretty good, and working as a Technical Consultant offers lots of opportunities to learn about different ERP software implementations. I've found some great mentors on my direct project teams, even working remotely from Austin.
Cons: Upper leadership can feel a bit disconnected from the day-to-day realities of projects. Sometimes, decisions come down that don't quite make sense for our specific cloud solutions clients. It can be frustrating trying to get their attention on smaller team issues.
Advice to Management: Senior leadership should try to engage more directly with project teams, especially those working on critical ERP software deployments. More transparent communication about strategic changes would also help us feel more aligned.

Career Growth Can Be Tough Here
Pros: I've learned a ton about enterprise solutions, which is great for my skillset. There are good opportunities to work on different modules, even as a Software Engineer.
Cons: Career growth for technical roles feels really bottlenecked. It's hard to move up without a manager leaving, and new responsibilities don't always come with title changes. I've felt a bit stuck with remote work progression.
Advice to Management: Create clearer paths for career growth, especially for remote employees in technical roles. Recognize skill development with proper title and compensation adjustments.

Okay for Stability, Tough on Career Growth
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the work itself is steady. We get to work on established ERP software, which is cool for learning the ropes of enterprise solutions. The Austin, TX office has a decent vibe.
Cons: Career growth here is pretty limited. There's not much room for advancement beyond your current level, especially in engineering roles. I felt a bit stuck after a couple of years, despite wanting to take on more.
Advice to Management: Management needs to focus on creating clearer career paths, especially for individual contributors. Give folks opportunities to grow instead of just lateral moves.

Steady but slow for career growth in ERP
Pros: I appreciated the job security that comes with working for an established ERP software company. You get to become a real expert in their product suite, which is good for niche skill development. The teams, especially in the Austin, TX office, were generally supportive and collaborative.
Cons: Career pathing for a Software Engineer here is vague. It's tough to get promoted without switching teams or even leaving the company entirely. There's not much opportunity to work with modern tech stacks, which can feel limiting for long-term skill development.
Advice to Management: Please create clearer, more defined career progression paths for technical roles like Software Engineer. Invest more in training for newer technologies and offer better internal opportunities for advancement beyond just lateral moves in the ERP software space.

Career Growth is a Bit of a Grind Here
Pros: The benefits were decent, especially for health insurance. As a junior software engineer, I got to work on some interesting ERP software modules and learned a ton. The hybrid work model was also a plus, giving some flexibility.
Cons: Career growth just isn't there for technical roles after a certain point. It's really tough to move up, even with solid performance. Promotions feel like they're based more on who you know or just waiting for someone to leave, not actual merit or a clear path.
Advice to Management: Management needs to develop clear, transparent career paths and promotion criteria, especially for engineering and other technical roles. Give people a reason to stay and grow internally instead of having to leave to advance.

Okay flexibility, but not fully remote friendly
Pros: The hybrid model is a solid perk if you're near an office. As a Technical Consultant, I could work remote a few days a week, which helped with personal appointments. They're generally pretty good about flexible start times, which is great for parents.
Cons: Full remote roles are really tough to find now, especially for new hires in ERP software. Sometimes the 'hybrid' feels more like mandatory office days with little actual reason to be there. The company can be a bit slow to adapt to changing remote work trends, even post-pandemic.
Advice to Management: Listen more to employee feedback on remote work policies. A truly flexible model would boost morale and help retain talent, especially in competitive tech markets.

Company culture is solid, but it's changing.
Pros: People are generally supportive here. As a Software Engineer, I've always felt like I could ask for help, which fosters a great company culture. The Austin, TX office has a decent vibe with regular team social events. Working in enterprise software at Epicor provides stability and opportunities for cross-functional collaboration.
Cons: Being a large corporate entity, decision-making can be slow, sometimes making the culture feel a bit stagnant. Integrating remote work has been a challenge; it can be tough for remote team members to feel fully connected to the local office culture.
Advice to Management: Focus more on integrating remote team members. Keep that friendly, supportive culture alive as the company grows.
