Solid corporate culture, decent place to grow
Pros: I like the stability that comes with working for a global packaging industry leader. My team in the Chicago office is really supportive, and we have a decent hybrid work model. As a Packaging Engineer, I get to work on some pretty cool sustainable packaging solutions and the professional environment is generally good.
Cons: Sometimes it feels a bit bureaucratic. Getting new ideas approved can take a while, which is typical for a big corporate environment. There aren't always super clear paths for career growth, especially for technical roles, unless you really push for them. The pace can be tough sometimes, especially around project deadlines.
Advice to Management: Try to streamline the approval processes for new initiatives and projects. Investing more in clear career development programs for individual contributors, particularly in engineering and R&D, would really help boost morale and retention.

Okay Flexibility for Corporate Roles at Amcor
Pros: I really liked the hybrid work option; I got 2-3 WFH days a week as a Packaging Designer. It helped a lot with my commute to the Chicago office. It's pretty standard now across the packaging industry for similar roles.
Cons: The flexibility isn't consistent across the board. If you're in the manufacturing sector or on the plant floor, you don't get any WFH. It's tough when colleagues have very different setups.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize flexibility policies where possible and communicate expectations better. Recognize that not all roles can be hybrid, but acknowledge the disparity.

Pay's okay, but benefits are solid here.
Pros: The 401k match is pretty good, a real solid benefit for manufacturing roles. The healthcare plan is comprehensive and covers a lot, which is a huge plus. It's a decent setup overall.
Cons: Base salary for Production Planner roles could definitely be higher to be more competitive. Raises aren't always what you'd hope for, even with good performance. The annual bonus isn't huge, more like a nice extra.
Advice to Management: Revisit the base pay structure for key supply chain roles like Production Planners. It would really help attract and retain top talent in the competitive flexible packaging industry.
