Hybrid Work is Decent, But Deadlines Are Tough
Pros: The hybrid work model is a huge benefit; it really helps with work-life balance. Being able to split time between home and the San Diego office means less commute stress. We also get pretty decent vacation time, which is good.
Cons: Sometimes, especially as a Software Engineer, the project deadlines can get intense. It's not uncommon to work more than 40 hour weeks when there's a big push, which can definitely impact personal time. The pace can be tough in this part of the medical device industry.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project loads to avoid extended periods of intense work for your engineering teams. More consistent planning would improve overall work-life balance.

Pay is just okay, but benefits are really solid.
Pros: The health insurance package is pretty good for the medical device industry, and the 401k match is decent too. It's nice to have a solid benefits foundation, especially with the hybrid work model.
Cons: Base salary as an Associate Product Manager in the San Diego office can feel a bit low compared to other tech companies. There's not much room to negotiate, and raises aren't huge.
